At the Louisiana Center for Children's Rights and Orleans Public Defenders, we go to the mat for our clients every day -- both in the courtroom and in the community. But sometimes what stands between our clients and success are barriers seemingly small but insurmountable to a person that's struggling.
Jarvis needs a birth certificate to enroll in school. Chanel needs diapers and other supplies for her infant daughter. Antonio needs clothes and basic furnishings after his release from prison.
No one should sink deeper into the legal system because they cannot afford the small costs that matter so much to their success. That's why LCCR and OPD created our respective Small Favors Funds, reserves we use throughout the year to help system-impacted individuals cover the small costs that stand between them and opportunities to thrive.
We need your help! After a very busy year, Small Favors is getting low on funds. This holiday season, we're rallying to raise it back up so that it'll be there when needed for our clients in 2024.
