$upport Children in Louisiana's Legal System!
Join me in making a difference in the lives of system-involved youth by giving today!
At the Louisiana Center for Children's Rights (LCCR), we go to the mat for our kids every day -- in the courtroom, the classroom, and in the community. Sometimes what stands between our kids and success are barriers that may feel insignificant but insurmountable to a family that's struggling to get by.
Here's just a couple of examples:
- Amire needs a new uniform, so that he'll stop getting written up for violating the school's dress code.
- Lionel needs a state ID card so that he can apply for an after-school job.
- Mya needs diapers and other supplies for her infant daughter.
No child should sink deeper into the legal system because they can't afford the small costs that are important to their success! That's why this holiday season, I'm rallying to raise money for LCCR's Small Favors Fund, a reserve used to help our children cover the small costs that can stand in the way of their opportunity to thrive in their communities, schools, and homes.
- For just $25: you can purchase books for one of our incarcerated kids
- For $50: you can provide a school uniform to a child in need
- For $100: you can rent a moving van for one of our families experiencing eviction
- For $250: you can purchase a Chromebook to aid one of our kids with their schoolwork
- And for $500: you can help a formerly incarcerated youth furnish their new home after reentry.
Most recently, the fund helped Gerard, a teen who had been jailed for being homeless, get back on his feet.
Black and brown children are the ones most likely to be pulled into Louisiana's juvenile legal system and face the biggest hurdles while exiting it. I've seen how even a modest donation can have a HUGE impact on our kids' lives. I sincerely hope you will join me with your support.
Together, let's rally to remove obstacles to our kids' success... and change their lives for the better. MAKE YOUR GIFT TODAY!
