LCCR is the only public defender in the country that exclusively represents children in juvenile court. Every summer, we share our specialized knowledge with law students to shape the next generation of children's advocates. They, in turn, help our attorneys research novel issues, draft motions, and establish new case law.

Historically, law clerkships at LCCR were unpaid. However, this meant that only students who had access to school stipends or family resources could afford to participate. As a result, some students were inadvertently shut out of the process--particularly students of color or those outside of top-tier law schools.

LCCR established its first-ever Law Clerk Stipend Fund to correct this lack of equity. We believe that every student should have equal opportunity to come learn with us and--we hope--pursue a career in children's rights. Join us with your gift to help replenish this fund for our next group of law students.
